What is Generations?
Generations is a three year faith and giving campaign with a vision to expand the scope of the reach of the Gospel in the Big Country through Beltway Park Baptist Church. As a part of this faith campaign, Beltway Park will be starting these projects:

- New Children’s Facility & Classrooms (photo)
- New Nursery Facilities
- Secured Check-In Areas for Children (photo)
- Fenced In Outdoor Play Area
- Larger Resources Center
- New Nursing Mother’s/Bridal Room
- New Commercial Kitchen (photo)
- Renovated Youth & University Facilities
- New Audio/Video System
- Expanded Parking Lot (photo)
Why are the elders proposing these additions to our facility?
Simply put: to keep reaching people. God has given us a grace to use our building as a tool to touch many, many lives.
So why not just do activities at other times than Sunday mornings?
WE DO! We use great portions of this building 7 days a week. However, we have discovered in 10 years that alternate service times do not work well for us. We have tried services early on Sundays, late on Sundays and even on Saturday nights. When we have room at the 9 AM – 11 AM time on Sunday morning, we are given a grace to reach new people. That is the foundation of why the elders believe it is time to look at expanding our facility.
How much will this project cost?
Here is the basic breakdown:
- Actual building: $5.7 million
- Sound/Video/Communications: $1.4 million
- Parking: $750,000
- Furnishings: $180,000
- Landscaping: $100,000
- Remodel of Current Facilities: $250,000
- Contingencies: $600,000
The total cost comes to $8.95 million, however, this can fluctuate a bit and we believe $9.5 million is the high side.
Why is this building so much more than the last one we built?
In 2002 we completed about 52,000 sq. ft. for $3.2 million. The proposed building is almost 50% larger. Also, we bid this building in 2000. It is now…2008. Building prices have gone up 30% - 50% in eight years. Also, we need to realize that building prices aren’t likely to go down in the years to come. If we wait another year or two, we could be looking at 10% - 30% (or more) for the same building.
How long will we be out of our building during construction?
Our goal is NONE. We believe we have a plan where we can build with minimum interuptions to what we are currently doing. However, if this does not work out, our time out will be minimal.
What will happen to our current building?
Current space used by children through 6th grade will be redone and used for other ministries. Though there is a general plan in place, we are still working out final details.
- Youth: Expand into and renovate current facilities
- University: Current Kid’s Park area
- Adults: Lower floor classrooms
How will we pay for this project?
By the grace and provision of God through His people!
How much debt do we have currently?
NONE!
How our we doing on our giving as a church currently?
We are blessed! In 2006, we averaged $52,095 in weekly giving. In 2007, we averaged $62,048 in weekly giving (19% increase). As of August 2008, we are averaging $71,021 in weekly giving (15% more than ‘07 and 36% more than ‘06).
Though our giving is very good, we cannot service $9.5 million on our current budget. That is why we are entering into the generations campaign.
How can I be involved?
We are asking all who attend Beltway Park to prayerfully consider making a faith pledge for three years to give above and beyond their tithes in order to see dramatic gospel growth in breadth and depth at Beltway Park.
